Over 30 years ago, Montrose County residents began providing transportation for their elderly and disabled friends and neighbors to doctors’ appointments, senior meals, and other needed services.  In 1989, the Montrose County Senior Citizens Transportation officially incorporated and was approved for a 501 (c)(3) status, April 1990.  Since then, seniors/disabled have been receiving transportation services within rural Montrose County, including the communities of Montrose, Olathe, Nucla, Naturita, Paradox, Bedrock and Redvale.  The purpose is to help senior citizens/disabled obtain access to health care and other needed services by providing transportation to hospital and doctor appointments, dental care, therapy, pharmacies, banking and grocery shopping.
The goals are to:

1). Improve quality of life by providing transportation to non-emergency medical appointments, preventative and life sustaining treatments and therapies, and employment, etc.;

2). Assist people in remaining independent in the comfort of their own homes.
